Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Wonderment got us to the moon
Wonderment got us to croon
Wonderment got us to explore
Understanding got us wanting more.
Wonderment enabled us to survive
Wonderment enabled us to revive
Wonderment enabled us to mould
Understanding enabled us to evolve.
Wonderment is a spark of light
Wonderment is the stars at night
Wonderment is the love we have
Understanding is the love we share.
In Listening in Wonderment, I painted a moment of quiet curiosity—when someone tilts their head and truly listens to the world around them. The colours swirl and collide because thoughts, sounds, and feelings rarely arrive neatly; they come as waves of energy that move through us. The figure emerges from this movement, reflecting that gentle state of wonder when we pause, listen deeply, and allow the moment to reveal something unexpected.
