Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Organic forms drift and quietly rearrange,
A butterfly becomes a figure with a change of view.
Rivers and hidden worlds flow beneath the surface,
Thoughts transforming, like wings slowly unfolding.
I painted organic shapes and flowing colours to form shifting images that change with orientation: in one view a butterfly emerges, in another a human figure appears, while the surrounding forms suggest a river’s path or hidden worlds beneath the earth. The painting reflects transitional thoughts—how ideas, identities, and perceptions transform depending on perspective, much like the quiet metamorphosis of the butterfly itself, emerging from the sub-conscious to the conscious.
