Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Light lifts the restless sea,
Fish leap and are set free,
Morning hums in rising gold—
A breath of life the waves now hold.
In Sunlift, I painted the moment the light begins to rise and everything responds—the sea awakening, energy lifting, life stirring into motion. The colours move upward through layers of blues, greens, and bursts of gold, as if the sun is pulling the ocean with it. Within that movement, fish leap and flicker through the surface, catching the light, becoming part of the rhythm rather than separate from it. I wanted it to feel alive and buoyant, where the boundary between water and sky softens, and the whole scene breathes together—an uplifting, almost weightless moment where light carries everything with it.
