In Sail Surf Sunset, I was chasing that restless, sun-soaked energy of summer—when the water is alive with movement and the light refuses to sit still. The yellows and warm tones hold the heat of the day, while the blues push and pull like the sea itself, carrying sails, boards, and fleeting figures across its surface. I let the marks stay loose and layered, almost colliding, because that’s how it feels out there—wind, water, colour, and motion all happening at once. It’s not a fixed scene, but a memory of being in it—salt in the air, sun on the skin, and that sense of freedom that only comes when everything is in motion together.
