Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
From mist, a quiet fire climbs,
Soft chaos loosens its hold,
A figure lifts beyond the blur,
And finds its thread of gold.
In Rise Above It, I let the colours breathe and collide until something resolute began to emerge—a red and yellow central figure lifting itself through a haze of soft blues, and scattered light. The figure isn’t sharply defined; it’s felt rather than seen, rising out of the mist as if pulled upward by its own quiet strength. Around it, the world remains fluid and uncertain, brushed in layers of movement and shifting emotion, yet the centre holds—warm, luminous, determined. For me, this painting is about that moment when you choose to rise, not because everything is clear, but because something within you refuses to stay buried in the fog.
