Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Peach skies hold sailors’ tales,
A quiet yacht waits by the shore.
Voices drift like gentle sails,
Dreaming of the sea once more.
In Peachy Sailors, I painted the feeling of sailors pausing together to reflect on the journeys they have taken. The peach and warm earth colours create a soft atmosphere where the figures emerge almost like memories, while the small yacht in the lower left represents the vessel that carried their stories across the sea. The painting is about conversation, shared experience, and the quiet moment when travellers gather to remember where they have been and imagine where the water might carry them next, as in life when we wonder where our life journey will go.
