Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
There’s a secret in the Garden,
An imminent change,
A secretive exchange
How will it be received?
In a gust of wind
The energy shifts
The garden lifts
Will the chicken fly?
In There’s a Secret in the Garden, I was exploring that quiet, intimate moment where something unspoken passes between two people. The male figure sits grounded, almost unaware, while the female figure leans in—reaching, whispering, carrying something delicate and hidden. The garden around them isn’t still; it’s alive, layered with colour and movement, like thoughts and emotions growing wild beneath the surface. And then there’s the chicken—grounded, observant, almost playful—reminding me that even in moments of secrecy and depth, there’s always something watching, something real anchoring it all. This piece is about connection, mystery, and the quiet power of what is shared in whispers.
