Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Colours spin where bodies sway,
Lost within the dance of play,
No steps to follow, none to keep,
Just rhythm rising, wild and deep.
In Let’s Dance, I let the paint move as freely as the body does when music takes over—no hesitation, no structure, just rhythm and release. The figures aren’t fixed; they emerge and dissolve within the colour, caught mid-motion, as if spinning, reaching, colliding in joy. I worked quickly and instinctively, allowing reds, yellows, blues, and greens to push and pull against each other, creating that pulse you feel rather than see. For me, this piece is about surrendering to movement—about that moment when you stop thinking and simply become part of the energy, where dance is not something you do, but something you are.
