Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Fire splits the sky above,
A small heart steadies below,
A shadow leans in close with love,
And hope begins to glow.
I painted this as a reminder that even in the most volatile, uncertain moments, something gentle still reaches through. At the top, the volcano erupts—raw, chaotic, unstoppable—yet beneath it sits this small red figure, fragile but present, perched on what feels both like solid ground and something living, like a dugong carrying it forward. There’s vulnerability there, but also endurance. Beside it, the darker figure leans in—not overpowering, just quietly holding space, offering comfort without words. The colours clash and surge, but they never collapse; they keep moving, keep breathing. For me, this painting is about that quiet truth—when everything feels like it’s breaking apart, there is still connection, still support, still hope waiting in the shadows.
