Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Wings rise through fire and doubt,
Shadows coil, then start to fall,
Courage cuts a path in light,
And the heart outflies it all.
In Pegasus and the Chimera, I wanted to capture not the literal battle, but the surge of energy and courage within it—the moment where chaos meets conviction. The sweeping strokes and bursts of colour hold Pegasus in flight, rising through the turbulence, while the darker, more tangled forms suggest the Chimera’s restless, shifting presence. For me, Bellerophon’s journey is less about conquest and more about transformation; it’s that inner triumph, where something brave and luminous pushes through the disorder and refuses to be overcome.
