In Late Afternoon Convergence, I’m not painting a place so much as a feeling—the way the day softens and everything begins to come together. The blues and teals flow through the centre like water or memory, while the ochres and golds hold the warmth of the sun as it lowers, stretching itself across the land. I let the marks move instinctively, allowing edges to dissolve because that’s how I experience these moments—nothing fixed, everything merging. It’s that quiet pause where light, land, and emotion meet, and for a brief time, they exist as one.
