Tracey-Ann begins her work with an abstract expressive style and then sub-consciously connecting with figures, animals, scenery and concepts to develop the message about our connection with life and our place in it.
Pink lake holds the fading light,
Coral sky breathes soft goodbye,
Stillness hums beneath the calm,
Day dissolves into the night.
In this piece, I was drawn to the stillness of a sunset over a pink salt lake—the way the horizon holds everything in quiet balance. That band of coral and blush light rests gently above the deeper blues, like the last warmth of the day stretching across the water. The lake itself feels both reflective and uncertain, its surface soft and shifting, holding traces of what has been and what is dissolving. I didn’t want to define it too clearly; I let the textures move instinctively, because for me it’s about that delicate meeting point—where colour, light, and memory settle into a calm that is never completely still.
